Every Best VFX Oscar Winner [VIDEO]

Every winner of the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects has been compiled in a supercut, uploaded to the YouTube channel Burger Fiction.

The video begins with the 1927 war film Wings (incidentally, the first ever Best Picture winner) and leads all the way up to Alex Garland’s sci-fi film Ex Machina, which won in 2016.

Highlights include Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, which showed space travel a full year before Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, and the groundbreaking CGI of James Cameron’s The Abyss in 1987.
