Trailer for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel released

The trailer for the sequel to Ang Lee’s Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has been released online. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, is scheduled for release both on Netflix and in IMAX theatres on 8 February 2016.

The original film was released in 2000, and won four Academy Awards, including Best Foreign Language Film, and became the most successful film not in the English language to ever be released, until Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ in 2004.

Sword of Destiny is directed by veteran martial arts choreographer and director Yuen Woo-ping, who worked as a choreographer on Ang Lee’s original film, as well as the hugely successful The Matrix and its sequels.

Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role from the original film as Yu Shu Lien.
